I’m currently in the second year of my BS psychology degree. I’m really at a loss as to which masters degrees & future career paths I should pursue. I’m under a lot of pressure to successfully get jobs after my studies, because having a long term work permit is the only way I can continue living in the country I’m now in.
At the same time, I have really bad social anxiety, and am very sensitive to (esp. social) stimulations, so ideally, on the long run I would like a job where the social demand as well as pressure are manageable for me, so essentially, the less people to interact with daily/ the less emphasis on teamwork/social interaction the better, to the extent that it is possible.
Lately I find myself losing motivation to study because I am having trouble coming up with specific jobs that fit me in those regards, and I really need those to give me clear directions and tailor my next few years in school and get suitable skills.
Some of my interests or fields/skills I’m open to: - Neuroscience - Data analysis - Neuroimaging
- Genetics - Lab work? (I’ve found the idea appealing but still need specific job titles..)
I’m open to any other fields/jobs as long as they have relatively high job demands OR low social demands. I would appreciate job titles as specific as possible. And more generally, I’m open to hearing any thoughts/advice!
