Should I quit a job I feel is passing me over for better oppportunities? When do you know you have to leave?
I’ve been at a certain restaurant for 3 years, and management changed within the past few months. I’m constantly getting passed over for opportunities for advancement, and ToGo shifts aren’t split evenly, to the point that between four hosts, I haven’t had a ToGo shift in 2 months.
I have talked to management to ask about why they are hesitant to give me a fair shake, and over the past few weeks, they have just said repeatedly they’re “working on it”.
A manager personally asked to speak to me from a job I’m considering. But there’s no guarantee that the job is going to work out. It’s a new atmosphere and it’s a small local chain instead of the international chain I work at now. I should also add that I’ll be out of college in a few years and I won’t need to see these types of businesses in a short while.
Basically, I want to know how much favoritism I should accept until I say “I deserve something better”.
