4 years ago my company didn't really have a policy about politics at work, and offically we don't have one and we had some heated arguements between co-workers.
This time around about a week ago we all got an an email that said:
- No one is to speak about politics or the results of the election at work
- Anyone that is caught speaking about politics or the results of the election at work will be sent home without pay (you'll be paid for the time you worked obviously)
With the message being we are a place of business, not a coffee shop to sit and discuss politics. I actually like the policy.
O and 2 people were sent home, from both sides of the political spectrum so they were fair in the enforcement.
