Advice on leaving my job
Give give a short version, I work at a pharmacy and have put in my notice (as of Nov. 13th) and gave my boss 4 weeks to find a replacement. Everything went well and I did gave the appropriate letter of resignation and talked to my boss in person. I am no longer interested in getting my PharmD and have transitioned into CS. However, we have been short staffed lately but our leadership has been subpar at best. This weekend we had a person call in for COVID and they are unable to work 2 for weeks. I am always the one to volunteer because I pride myself in working hard. My boss told me that since nobody else would come in he would help me this weekend. Hallelujah, he finally steps up to the plate and will staff for us. Come this morning, he doesn’t communicate anything with me, a random tech from another location is given no direction, and I get there at 12:30pm responsible for both shifts. Now, I am stuck staffing an entire pharmacy but myself with one pharmacist to to care for roughly 100 beds. Should I just finish my shift and tell him I’m over it? This is a reoccurring poor performance of leadership and management that I am over saving asses for. Me working overtime, overnights, weekends nights, and multiple random shifts while working full time and going to school full time just to do the right thing has burnt me out.
Let me know in case I’m acting outlandish or if I should just bite the bullet and leave early (it’s already been two weeks so far..)
