Can you move to FL while working remotely for the state of MI?

My boyfriend just got hired for a remote job in IT working for the state, but wants to move back to Florida in a few months… Is this a possibility?

If not, are there any other jobs related to IT help desk? I’ve been looking for jobs for him locally… it would be best for him to work from home due to health issues. He’s going to ask his employer in the next few weeks if moving is a possibility, but doesn’t want to ruin his job opportunity by telling them he’s planning on moving just yet. I’m just really trying to help him out… he’s excited about the new opportunity and finally finding a job so I don’t want to ruin it by telling him “you should probably look for a job down here ASAP” so I am… Trying to get a head start on this for him...
