I quit school Sept 2019 to take a promotion from Part Time to a Full Time Manager at my current position. My gross income is about $42,000 a year and I work a ton of hours, work 1 weekend per month and 2 holidays per year, and always have my boss breathing down my neck and is verbally abusive to myself and my staff (I have reported to HR) Anyway, everyone says to wait for boss to leave, but I just dont think I can wait anymore. I have an interview at as a weekend receptionist coming up, which they already pretty much said I have it if I want it. This job is Full Time, Benefits and only working 28 hours but time and a half to make it 40, only Friday-Sunday. I am highly considering taking the position, depending on pay, I can go down to $38,000 just fine. I've been looking to go back to school Full time while working this new job and getting a better degree so that way I can get out of the customer service/ retail category. I've told them I wouldn't be able to start till mid January and they seem fine with that, this is because if I work 1 day into the new year I'll get a $5,000 bonus from current position and all my pay for 15 days of vacation + a $600 stock payout. The only thing I'm worried about is my 401k as with my current position they match my contribution, but I can't keep their side of the match unless I've been with the company 3 years, which would be July. It's not much, $2,500 but the idea of losing it kind of scares me for my future. I guess I am looking to see what other's would do in this situation. Stay at my current job till July for the 401k match and possibly another bonus? Or leave my current job for something that probably pays less and is Friday-Sunday, but only 28 hours getting paid 40 and being able to go back to school full time?
