So I work for a Canadian pet store that was just in the news because they're shutting down all their stores in the US. I've been with the company for almost three years as an assistant store manager. Before that I was in management for a failing restaurant chain for about a decade. I'm not sure where to go from here. I'm really burned out on customer service at this point but I don't have a degree in anything and all of my experience is in retail and food service management. I've attempted to find jobs in reception but either no one wants to hire me for my lack of relevant experience, or it's a pay cut I just can't afford. Honestly, I don't even know if I'd be happy doing that anyway. I have no actual interest career-wise aside from animals. I'd really appreciate any advice from anyone anywhere. Thank you in advance!
