i worked at this company for about 4 months before covid, covid slowed down the companies work a lot so i offered to take some time off and the owner agreed. Faster forward 4 months later things calm down a bit and i go back to work.
Since i have been back my manager has been a complete dick to me, constantly telling me i need to get more done when im already working at a good pace. He asked me to do something (not urgent) and there was too much stuff in the way for me to do what he asked so i moved to a different task and he accused me of "sitting on my ass" instead. Just being very passive aggressive and petty about everything
I asked him if there was something the matter, or something we need to discuss and he told me no. So i told him that if he plans to keep acting this way i dont plan to keep working for the company. And he said fine dont.
I cant think of any reason for this, im working the same as i did before the time off, maybe im still getting in the swing of things again but im doing my best.
The only thing i can think of is that hes angry i got time off because of covid.
Im planning to talk to the owner and see if he can mediate a discussion about what the problem is, but i think we all know if a manager wants to they can make your life hell. So i probably just gotta jump ship.
This is a small company with about 10 employees including the manager and owner.
