I just interviewed for a job and sent a thank-you e-mail right after the interview occurred. The interviewer responded later that day with a 6-8 sentence followup. He ended it by saying that the process is very competitive, but I did well and that I should be proud of myself.
Would you take that as good news or a way of complimenting me but also lowering my expectations to expect a rejection? Normally I wouldn't think much of it, but way more effort was put into it than I thought it would. Let me know what you think!
