Let me start with saying I’m not good at cover letters. I have a hard time saying positive things about myself and I also hate feeling like I’m begging. That’s why I’m asking for help. I have been in the medical (admin/clerical) field my whole adult life, so 12 years. I hate it and I want to do something else. What tips or phrases would you suggest to convey “I know I’ve only ever worked in this field, but please give me a chance with your company to do something else”? I am well loved by my boss and coworkers, who would give amazing references, I am a hard worker and neurotic about efficiency and things being done correctly. I KNOW I can succeed in another field and do bigger things but how do I convince a hiring manager of that? Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
