Let me start with this, I work with my brother, father, and cousin all in the same company. It is about a 10 minute drive to work for me. (This is why I want to stay)
I have been with them for 2 years.
Under this company, I have my forklift certification, WHMIS certification, and railcar offload certification.
I spent from AUG 2018 to DEC 2018 as a “floor worker” DEC 2018 to MAY 2020 as supervisor and head railcar off-loader. MAY 2020 to present, I am “HEAD ANTIFREEZE BLENDER/SUPERVISOR”.
Antifreeze blending can be very dangerous (dealing with caustic potash and sulphuric acid), along with about 10 other highly cancerous and dangerous chemicals.
I on average, work 9 hour days.
I literally am dealing with millions of dollars, as the slightest mistake can be in the hundreds of thousands of dollars lost. Never mind potential customers. (We supply airplane de-icing fluid and privately manufactured antifreeze for big company’s.)
I go over and above for this company. They say they “notice it”.
My salary... ... ... $30,000 CAD a year. Roughly around $22,000 a year in USD.
Honest thoughts ?
Preferably from actual employers in the lubricant industry.
