Hello all,
I withdrew myself from the hiring process because my mental health is suffering and I do not feel like I am able to pursue my career right now.
I am taking time to heal and care myself before I get back into the work force. I want to be the best employee I can be, but I can't if I am not well.
I told HR that I had to remove myself from the hiring process. She said that if there was anything she could do to change my mind, do tell. I thanked her, but left the door open for future possibilities.
I stupidly said if the position wasn't filled by the middle of next month, that I'd be happy to continue the process.
She said, that given that the middle of next month isn't that far away, she'd still like to interview me for the position.
She wants to talk to work something out, and ask if I was free tomorrow for a short conversation.
I have a feeling that during the conversation, the "why" I decided to withdraw, and hinted at a later date is going to come up. I want to be as authentic as possible-- bad timing due to my mental health.
I am not mentally capable of even going through the interview process.
I was wondering if I should disclose that during the phone call.
How do I even go about that kind of phone call?
Should I opt out of the phone call? If so, how?
