Interview rounds going SO well until just now. Bombed an interview, did I blow it?

Got an interview with a company in a unique field I have experience in - basically my old employer's competitor. Met with the recruiter, then hiring manager. I did very well and both were very impressed by me and what I bring to the table.

Just had an interview with someone who is more senior but in a cross-functional department. I'd be working with them a lot - but they won't be my boss.

He started the interview very abruptly. Basically asked "what's the difference between x and z?" and threw two terms at me. I knew the answers, but fumbled big time and we moved on with a half effort answer. Throughout the later discussions I pulled myself up and brought up an example to a scenario he gave me. I also saw this as an opportunity to use both terms of x and z as examples showing him I do know what they mean, and I just awkwardly answered the question.

After the example I mentioned "I feel I did a poor job answering your first question, and I thought it would be best to show you those two terms in an example" he responded "don't worry about it".

How bad did I blow it?
