Okay so I’m a college student looking for part time work and I have to bike wherever my job is.
Job #1: local ice cream place.
It’s hipster pricey ice cream. It’s about a mile and a half ride but flat. The coworkers are nice and the schedule seems more flexible as I could work a morning.
Hours: Tuesday and Thursday 5-11pm. Saturday 11am-5p.
Perks: free ice cream? Free t shirt. Probably pretty easy work but maybe a bit boring.
Pay: $7.25/hr plus tips (manager said about $12.50 right now) but that could go down in winter
Job #2: fancy Italian restaurant.
Very nice place so I’d be the dishwasher. It’s about a mile bike ride but up a pretty grueling hill. The owner was nice but the schedule is more rigorous and it seems to be a tighter ship. It will be tougher work only washing dishes
Hours: Tuesday and Thursday and Saturday 5-11p. As well as every other Sunday.
Perks: free meal every shift.
Pay: $12+ (owner said he hadn’t decided salary yet but it would be minimum $12 up to $17 an hour)
