How to negotiate salary when you know the salaries of your future team members?

I'm in the beginning stages of salary negotiation. It's with a public institution so I know how much each of my prospective teammates made in base salary in 2019.

Any advice on how to best use this information to my advantage? The opening salary is about $6k less than the lowest paid member of the team.

How do you navaigate not being too low on the totem pole and maintaining pay equity amongst the team? Seems like a minefield.
