Trying to get converted after a year of working for a company. April 2018 recruiter said salary range was 50k-60k - HR wants to pay me same salary I'm earning as a temp

I'll set the scene.

My supervisor called and I was stupid enough to tell him what the temp agency is paying me - 19/hour, not 21, as HR thought.

He says, "they're thinking of offering you $22/hour."

I am an admin assistant who has worked in this ERP for 3 years for an architecture office, reading schedules and floor plans, to some extent, creating opportunities to salesforce, I'm in my 30s, and that's lower than entry level salary they'd offer a kid out of college. We're in a depression. I do not have an architecture or engineering degree.

I appreciate I am not pricing anything, but...they're paying junior estimators' $70-75k. I am essentially a bid coordinator.

These people have me where they want me. After refusing to convert me (I asked October 2019, six months in)...I will be paying in for health insurance where I have low income insurance now, so actually, I'll have less take-home pay after tax when they convert me.

I said the recruiter told me a year ago the salary for this was $50-60k (never put in email - I wish I had asked, and I knew when the recruiter said it on the phone that I would regret not demanding that number in something I could show them) and I wanted $65k. I've cost them more than that, as they paid Robert Half for me.

These people took 18 months of my life, and I'm going on 4 years of temping.

What do I do, reddit?

I'm so tired of interviewers sneering at my resume I'm desperate enough to take that, but I'm so insulted and humiliated.

I live in a major American city. $50k is not good money. It's just enough to have 3-4 roommates. It is barely enough to save.

$22/hour, when they've handed a recruiter at least $25 hour for my hide.

I have no other offers and nowhere to go.

I don't even know what they're paying other hourly workers but it must be something horrible.

Worst of all - I know on some level this is happening b/c they're trying to diminish the percentage they give Robert Half.

I almost wish they gave me a way to circumvent this stuff.

This is why temping is horrible - it isn't just the stigma.

Staffing agencies in my cities have transformed and are now the go-to for lower end and admin jobs, helping them become eliminated (unless someone is recruited from college or by a friend). The same framing means I am going to get hosed, yet again, after spending a year helping my recruiter earn $30/hour for every $19 I did and she'll get 25% of whatever they release me for, I'll bet.

I'm so angry and helpless.
