26 year old male from Silicon Valley - California.
I keep getting hired at companies, that don't offer me training, are extremely challenging, and as a result, I can't seem to hold a job for long.
I also want to start a family, but have no idea how I can do this, with my lack of job stability, and not knowing what type of job I could hold.
I have a Bachelor's Degree in IT/Business from a State School & a Master's Degree (MBA) from a low tier, low ranked school.
I am blessed to be very good at interviewing for jobs, being very articulate, sounding like a coherent coworker, and have been frequently recruited for technical project management positions in the Bay Area.
However, I just don't think I'm smart enough to hold most technical/critical thinking jobs. All three jobs I've gotten in the past, have barely offered any training, and expected me to just "learn on my own" & become pretty knowledgable within 1-2 months of starting, after throwing some documentation at me, and forwarding me some emails. Co-workers ignore me and have not been helpful, assuming I will learn on my own.
Once they discover I'm not good enough, I sense they begin to plan to try and get rid of me, and one company already did this. The companies I get hired at are really tough to get ramped up at, and it has been happening time and time again, and quite frankly, I'm sick of it, and just want some stability in my life.
(A stable job, that I actually understand how to do, where I can save money consistently over many years)
This has happened at all three companies I've worked for, so I'm starting to feel I'm not cut out for what I'm doing. (Many of the skills at these companies are more internal processes, and can't be researched) Also, I like to be told what to do & guided through structured training, rather than learn on my own.
As a result, I've began to investigate other more stable, but easier to learn professions (like government jobs, teaching, etc.), but with my background, I don't even know what I could do.
Unfortunately, those jobs pay really low salaries. Any advice? I feel completely lost.
All the jobs I've had have been advertised as entry level, so its not like I'm applying for really senior positions, but none of these companies seem to want to offer training anymore.
