So, I've been unemployed since May when my internship in San Francisco, CA ended. I got a sublease for 3 months from May-July to try and secure another job, and while I got interviews during that time, I didn't get an offer and recently moved back to my hometown on the East Coast.
The main problem is my degree is in Journalism, and I'm trying to find a job in PR or Marketing. My last internship was in PR, and there's really 0 job prospects in that industry in the state that I live in. I've mainly been applying to CA jobs still but I'm worried that no one will get back to me now that I don't have a CA address. I don't know if I should keep my old one on there because I'm afraid someone will find out, especially when I'm doing video interviews in a different time zone.
I'm just so unsure of how to go about this. The only thing that's working in my favor right now is the fact that the jobs I've been applying to are remote for the rest of the year. Which would give me time to save up some more before moving back out there. I'm just caught in such a predicament because my job isn't in STEM so it won't pay all that much, but there's upward mobility. And most comm jobs are in big cities which are extremely expensive, especially being in a huge amount of student loan debt. I'm just strapped trying to figure out the best way of going about this right now.
