I was put on a PIP and recently found out my improvement wasn't good enough, therefore will be let go very soon. One of my indirect supervisor, who didn't contribute to me being put on a PIP, was aware of my PIP. I told this person some details about my PIP and my concerns. This person didn't have much problems with my performance.
With this person knowing I will be let go due to the PIP, do you think it's still a good idea to ask this person to be one of my job references?
