I am only a 1st Year Mathematics student, but suddenly I am worried about what my career may look like once I graduate. It seems like most people who studied Math went on to become teachers or professors, or went down the actuarial or finance route.
In my first year I am specialising in Economics & Finance, in my second year I will specialise in Statistics, and in my third year I will specialise in Applied Mathematics. From there I may do a Masters Degree in either Pure or Applied Mathematics. I've come to love coding as well and by the time I graduate I'll be skilled in Python and R, and hopefully Mathematica and MATLAB too.
Are there any maths-intensive careers (ideally well compensated) that I could go into given the above?
