I was put on a PIP a month ago and found out I WILL BE let go in 1-2 weeks. I've been applying to jobs from the start of the PIP but received no interviews so far. I've seen posts from people who were put on a PIP during covid, but none about what the job hunting experience has been like after being let go for performance, NOT laid off.
Should I resign or let them fire me? I think it'll be easier to explain why I quit rather than fired, but I dont think i'm in the position to turn down potential unemployment benefits not knowing how much longer COVID will go.
What has the aftermath been like for other people in a similar situation? What are some reasons you give for not being employed anymore if it's not related to COVID? Do the employers get skeptical?
