Nursing Home Administrator

My ultimate goal is to become a nursing home administrator one day and it has been a hell of a ride so far for me to even put my foot into this industry. I have a MBA in healthcare management, one year experience as an underwriter. I have been struggling to get an interview even though I applied to at least 50 jobs that related to the long term care. This is such a hard job to get into, I basically have to work my way up to secure a whole year of training (AIT) before getting my license. Does anyone here went through the same situation? If so, I really need your advice.
