Government job application question

I saw the requirement " Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959 "

I was from Hong Kong and became a US citizen at age 37.

From what I know, Selective Service Registration can only be done no later than age 26.

Then does it mean that I can NOT apply for any government job even I am a citizen now??
