Unemployed for 8 months and can't land a job.

So, I'm a recent graduate with a bachelor's degree in biology. I used to live in my university city, but had to move home due to financial constraints. This was back in December. I never felt bad about moving home, because my parents were always supportive and said it would never be a problem.

Home is in a tiny town of 300 people with a few larger towns within half an hour. Any larger towns (forget cities) are an hour away. It's nearly August now, and finding a job has been hell, especially with Covid-19. I've looked nearly every day and applied to whatever I could find that I was able to do.

To date, I've had phone interviews and in-person interviews with at least 2/3 of the companies I've applied to. They always shoot me down, often saying that they want someone with more experience. Which is extremely frustrating and demoralizing, because they've all seen my resume and had two interviews with me before deciding this!

I managed to get one job. They let me go a week in because they decided to change their hours and didn't have enough hours to keep me on. Now, I'm a paranoid person, and usually believe that I did something that they're not telling me about. But even I can't believe that this many people are lying to me for the exact same thing!

I really don't know what to do here. My mother has taken to nagging me and reminding me of how long I've been unemployed on a daily basis, as if I'm just mooching off her and my dad and not bothering to look for a job. I don't think my resume is a problem if I can get the interviews, and I have no idea what I could be doing wrong in the interviews to not get any job offers. I can always manage to get through the first interview, and I'm not falling into any of the bad habits I've seen in a million articles online for interviews either.

I always tailor my resume to the position I'm applying for, so I don't look overqualified for retail jobs. And I pad my resume with internships, volunteer work, field studies from college, etc. to make up for the lack of experience in my field. Even professionals have agreed that my resume looks great.

I'll take any advice that anyone can give me about this because I can't take the belittling from my mother anymore or feeling incredible guilt every time I take a day just to relax for once. As long as that advice isn't to move to where more jobs are, because my bank account is nearly drained and I can't afford to move anywhere but a cardboard box.
