Hi,
I've been looking for a job for a while and so far I haven't heard from anyone I've applied to. My résumé isn't great, it lists my only job, my education and some things I'm good at: hand stuff, attention to detail, that kind of stuff. It also says references available upon request, but I don't know if the people I asked even remember agreeing to be a reference. Honestly, the only reason I added so much was because my therapist helped me make my résumé.
I've been looking at labour and construction jobs, since that's really the only thing that I'm good at and can make money from but, so far, I've heard nothing. All the jobs I've been applying to don't require any experience or education because I have none. Most of the jobs I've applied for have at least a few openings so I don't see how availability would be a problem.
I've been looking on and off since I turned 14 (legal working age where I live) and the only job I've ever had was like that stuff that comes out of a rectal cavity just like "No foul language" and I'm pretty sure it was offered to me out of pity and little else. I was 17 or something during that summer.
I'm 24 now and desperately trying to sort my life out and I need a job to continue. It's gotten to the point where I'm considering just begging for a job.
I'm at the end of my rope. I have no self-confidence or self-esteem and I really have no idea what else I'm supposed to do.
If you offer me any help or advice, that would be great.
PS: This is a repost because apparently some people, definitely not snowflakes, still think some words are bad. Did you know that removing most of the letters from firetruck leaves you with a word that has been scientifically proven to be a stress reliever? And stress is probably extremely common on this subreddit. More so, since people can't express how similar their boss is to digested food and are seeking advice on finding a new boss that is less like forbidden chocolate and more like perfectly acceptable chocolate. And having to repost this while I'm extremely stressed is making me even more stressed. Maybe consider changing rules 2 so that you seem less like the leavings of someone who is extremely unhealthy and more like someone who cares about their health?
