So like many people, I am using Indeed.com to search for a new position. I know you have the option but are NOT required to take the assessments Indeed offers to add to your overall Indeed profile. However, sometimes after I apply for jobs on Indeed with their "easy apply/apply with your indeed resume" option, I get an automated follow up e-mail where the employer specifically asks me to several of these Indeed assessments. Does anybody on here who works in HR or otherwise know if your application isn't even usually considered by most companies unless you take this follow up assessments from Indeed?
I really find these assessments to be a waste of time and usually quite silly with what they ask, so I would rather NOT take them. Not only do I feel like it doesn't value my time, but I would rather not take it at all than take it and absolutely bomb it. So my question is are these assessments something employers look at heavily or its more of something optional but not required?
