Career change from railroad worker to "work from anywhere" job?

I'm a 35m with no family or kids and no plans for any. Right now I'm a heavy equipment operator for a railroad and have been doing it almost 10 years. What are the chances of me getting into some kind of job where I can work from home/work from anywhere? The idea of being able to move wherever I want, whenever I want at this point in my life sounds very appealing. What kind of jobs are even out there that will start out at 50-60k a year? I have good computer skills[life long gamer, nerd-lite], tact, and I'd like to think I'm fairly intelligent but I've only ever worked blue collar jobs. I have a 2 year tech degree for millwright work, I could probably swing doing another 2yr tech degree while still working my current job. Is this switch just a long lost dream at this point?
