I received my Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy with a minor in Public Affairs from UCLA in mid-March (around the time quarantine began). I’ve been applying to jobs consistently since then and I’ve barely gotten any responses back. I know that this pandemic has had a major impact on the job market. But the jobs I’ve been applying to are “Actively Hiring During COVID.” Most of them are Admistrative Assistant jobs or of a similar nature. You’d think that I could at least land one of those, but nope! Most don’t require a BA and offer an annual salary of ~45K. Yet during the interview process, they make it seem like I’ve applied for a job at Goldman Sachs. I’m currently in the interview process for a Content Manager position, but they’ve been stringing me along for the last 3 weeks, making me complete a bunch of assessments. But I guess I don’t have much of choice, just have to remain patient and optimistic. I swear, I feel like I’m going to go crazy at home with nothing to do. I need something to stimulate my brain and at least make some money while doing it.
Is anyone else in the same boat as me? If so, what recommendations can you give? Also, are there any positions that are most suitable for Philosophy majors?
