I’ve been reading articles that say the national average is around 28 days. That has not been my experience at all.
While some of it may be down to covid, I think most of it stems from the process itself. It usually takes about 2-4 weeks for me to hear back after sending in an application. I then have to send in additional essay responses to their questions. Cue another week or so of waiting. Then another week scheduling an interview. Cue more waiting until progressing to the next round. Then more waiting, and then the final round interview. Then I wait again, if I get a response at all.
I had a first round interview that took over 2.5 hours for an entry level position. This was after weeks of waiting and sending in additional essay responses.
I am applying to entry level positions that offer less than $15 an hour. I guess I would understand for higher up positions, but why is this process so arduous for entry level? I am so frustrated after spending over 2 months jumping through hoops just to be ghosted!
