Initially rejected now now offered a contract position...thoughts? Longish post

First, I want to say that I'm very lucky to be getting any interviews and interest at all as a recent grad. But it's also hard work I'm putting in, and I've been applying a ton.

Now for what's going on...I had two interviews back in april for a company (company A) then found out they couldn't hire multiple people because of budget cuts. Fast foward to now, and I've had first round interviews at two different places (let's call them X and Y), and second round at another place (company Z, though their process is weird so I'm not actually sure how far along I am). All of these were very recent, but I should hear about all 3 of these jobs this week or next to see if I'm getting more interviews.

I am the most excited about Y, but this interview was only today and while I felt like it went brilliantly, who knows). I feel pretty good about Z, but it's not as good pay as Y, though I think I have a better shot at getting an offer. I wasn't a big fan of company X or their very low salary, and would likely decline if they even decided to move foward with me.

With all that said, today company A emailed me seeing if I was interested in contract work for several months, and that I should call to discuss things further. I want to see what other people think of this situation, if I should even consider A as it's only a long contract, not a permanent position. I have no idea if this is the only offer (well, close to an offer) I will receive, or if I could hear back from Y or Z and get an offer from them.

I know this is the tricky part of getting a job, the timeline and uncertainty, but I just wanted to get some opinions. Thank you.
