In many fields LinkedIn is used quite widely as "the" professional networking platform, that most professionals use in a very large number of different fields of work.
In the past, I have found it quite useful. Not only does it serve as an online, fully searchable resume format, but I feel its almost necessary as many peers and colleagues and former managers have it and use it.
Although awesome to have a profile on LinkedIn, as you use it more I find the "noise" is getting louder these days!
Its almost like LinkedIn kinda imploded on itself, there's too much saturation in everything, and the information coming at you isn't really organized in any discernible, structured way. There's TOO many recruiters, TOO much bogus information out there that can't be verified.. i mean for sure is Linked getting kinda overrated? Almost getting irrelevant? Like, its more a profile accessory now than taken seriously as a job hunting platform- correct me if I am wrong here?
