Should I stay or leave? Dealing with a Toxic Boss

I have been working at my current job for almost 5 years now. Up until March I never took any days off and I always stayed late to complete my work. In March when the schools closed my husband started working from home. Since he works in IT he was able to stay home but there were days that he needed to go to his clients businesses or the office to do his work. So I asked for Tuesdays and Thursdays off so I could stay home because we didn't want our daughter going to daycare during this time.

In the beginning my boss told me that it would be fine and that I would use my PTO. A week later she told me that I wouldn't get paid for any days off and she fought hard really pushing for me to resign. She had told me that she wasn't going to fire me since I'm good at my job and I take care of what needs to be done. I'm always there if someone calls out and I always make sure my work is done. So the only way out is to quit. I told her that I was not resigning so she asked if I would agree to being part time I told her I wasn't leaving so I agreed. Ever since then everyday that I am there in the office she calls me into her office and tells me about things I'm doing wrong. It's not constructive criticism either. It's finding things and blaming me for not doing it right. Being very petty.

When I asked her if I could work from home on those days I would be off she refused. Instead she let her former employee (T) work from home. T was very toxic and enjoys when others get in trouble. She thrives off it. That's why she no longer works there but she has known the boss since she used to babysit for her kids so she's just doing my boss a favor since I am unable to work those days.

Just an example of what I go though on a daily basis.

So a patients wife called about her husband's paying more than he should have when he came in for his visit. She complained and called her insurance. My boss waited for the remittance from the insurance company to see how much was the patients responsibility was. Indeed he paid more then he should have and asked her former employee (T) to look into this. When she found out that the insurance wasn't verified correctly and that I was the one who verified it she happily went to my boss and told her it was my fault. She called me into the office and asked me why was mistake happened. I told her that it was just a mistake and that I would call the patient to let him know about this.

I went back to my desk and called the patient. He was understanding and said he would just leave that on his account and use that credit for future balances. My boss didn't like how easy I got off the hook and told T to call the wife since she was the one who had complained.

First off this is just petty! Why in the world would I call the patients wife instead of the actual patient? Once I got in contact with the patient and told them about the situation that would be the end of the issue. Problem solved.

My boss has to be involved in everything and when she does it makes it very chaotic. She has poor management skills, has to micromanage everyone and I feel as though I get punished like a kid.

She has made it so that I'm more worried about dealing about her then my actual work.

How can I deal with my boss? I love my coworkers but she has become unbearable. What should I do?
