Last summer I had a job at Starbucks where I was way too stressed and overworked. So when college started again I simply couldn’t even make it to work on top of all the work and classes I had right off the bat. I thought I could make it work but the commute itself was too long and I decided I just could not give a 2 week’s notice, so I texted my manager that I wouldn’t be able to work anymore.
I understand that it’s just polite to give a notice, but I literally could not find time (or, more accurately, was not willing to make time) and ride over on the subway to work one last shift and then hand in a notice. I’m wondering if there was a better way to go about it, and if I should’ve quit before school, instead of holding out the hope that I could keep going.
I would like to visit my store again to see friends there, but I’m not sure how they would feel about me after how I left.
