After going back to school for two years, Should I go back to old job?

Hi there,

A fork in the road, I want to seek your advice. I haven't contact my previous employer yet. Here is the back story, I went back to school two years ago to study computer system technology. When I left my old job, I mentioned if I can come back. My manager at that time agrees I could come back.

Currently, I am about to graduate with a diploma this June. The job prospect is bad due to COVID or everyone is holding back hiring at the moment.

Should I go back to old job? I feel embarrassed and lost.
