I recently began working in a temporary position for covid-19 relief. The hiring process was fast and a bit all over the place as they rapidly needed help. I was told I would make a certain rate, but have noticed that my listed pay online is less than what they promised. I have not received any paycheck yet to double check. There was not, and has not been any written contracts regarding pay specifically, only verbal offers and promises.
It appears the lower rate may technically be correct for my experience, but both during my phone interview and at a later point with HR I confirmed my experience level and the initial pay. I am going to email HR, but do I have any grounds to stand on if they come back and say they made a mistake and I will only get the lowered pay?
