Hello guys. Ive been planning on leaving my job (physician assistant, small clinic) since last year and started looking for new jobs in January. I wanted to be ahead of the game but of course the coronavirus came in and derailed everything. I know the general mantra is "dont quit unless you have a job lined up" but my lease is up in June and on top of that I'm moving out of State (fiance has already moved back). I had a successful interview last week but I am worried about the "what if" scenario if I dont land the job. Theres no way I can afford my rent anymore (or lease extension) with my hours having been cut and already discussed with the fiance that I would be moving back home. The good part is ill be living with family rent free and I have enough savings to cover my car payments for at least 6 months.
Im lucky enough to be able to use telemedicine from home but I need to send in my resignation. Im planning on sending it a month before i leave but am wondering would it be worth seeing if I'd still be able to work from home with my current practice while having moved back to my home State? Anybody in a similar situation? Any advice would be appreciated.
TLDR: was planning on leaving job to return back to home State since last year, lease ending in June but Coronavirus came and no job guaranteed yet. Looking for advice and/or reassurance.
