What's the point of getting degrees

I have 2 degrees one in Psychology and a M.Ed. and I can't find a job to use them. I can't teach, I can't afford to get a Teaching Certification. Being a Para pro doesn't pay the bills especially in WA State... It's annoying, I just want to make my son proud of me.
