Negotiating Job Offer?

Any tips for negotiating job offers? I was recently laid off so can’t really use the “my salary is currently $x” objection.

I was interested in negotiating the salary up a couple thousand, as well as possibly a few benefits? I want to be careful to not ask for too much that I turn them off.

Any tips, tricks, or advice is appreciated!
