Hello All,
I've been given offer a job and I have two options in which I could accept a job.
- - W2 at 60k/yr. HDHP with 6k deductible and 1200 employer provided HSA. Monthly cost is $100. 5 Vacation Days, 3 personal days, 7 Holidays.
- - 1099 Contractor at 80k/yr assuming 40hrs/week, 52 weeks a year.
Other relevant info, wife has employer sponsored health care and the cost to add me would be over $900/month (unfeasible). I would not want to go uninsured and the base ACA plan seems to run about $325/mo based on healthcare.gov. Also looked at short term medical that would cost 1/2 to 1/3 that cost, but not sure if thats a good route to go.
I've been trying to do a comparison, but both options seem to amount out to about the same. Is one option better than the other?
