I need some help about whether or not I should whistleblow to two big aerospace companies for some shady things this shop I was working at.
I am a quality engineer and worked in aerospace machine shops my whole career and today I was laid off at a roughly 40+ shop that makes both aerospace and tooling for most major customers like Boeing/Lockheed Martin/Northrop etc.
I was given a BS excuse that the owner was tight on money and wanted to hire more shop workers to complete more work and laid me off to save money in the quality department. I found the real truth was this his son who is an inspector had me let go because i refuse to buy off/use expired adhesive on a tooling job for a customer.
Obviously i am angry with this fact, and of course its retaliation that is running through my head to get even with these people but I am taking deeper breathes to contemplate everything. If i tried to tell this customer about this part over this expired adhesive and given I was recently laid off would it look worst on me to do so?
I have another situation where in spring the owner forced my boss the quality manager to sign off and ship out parts that were the wrong specification for the metal, and these parts go into lets say a very important space craft.... If i were to tell this company about this months after it shipped out would it bring me down as well because i didn't say anything then?
Or maybe the better thing to do is let it be and just accept this outcome and move on with my life... I am not afraid of finding another job but i am angry at the unfairness of what people get away with these things.
All advice is appreciated and thank you for reading.
