Hi, I'm currently 19 and about 2 semesters away from getting my associates for an IT degree with a concentration in networking. I have been working at a phone repair shop for the last year and a half and I am making $10 an hour. I do love working here as the owner and staff are great, but I don't think Device Technician will hold up a lot of value for a future job that pays well.
I have an interview for a job as a Technical Support Analyst at a casino, and the starting pay is $12.50 an hour. I am kind of nervous about leaving a good situation for a new job, but I believe it would help me advance my career when I graduate. I will be working full time at the casino if offered the job, but that isn't a huge deal to me as I already work full time at this phone shop.
Would it be a good move to make the switch if I'm offered the job? Will the title hold more weight for me than my current job title on a resume?
