short term jobs - how bad is it for employability in the long term?

I am a mechanical engineer, and the sad truth for my job stints is due to the uncertainty on immigration in the US. Currently I have been moving job to job due to the h1b, but I don't know what it will be for me moving forward. Currently, I am in my last year in the US if I do not secure the h1b by this year. That can also mean my employer can terminate me anytime. This is what I have:

Company 1: 10 months

Company 2: 8 months

Company 3: 4 months

Company 4: 2 months and going

I left company 1 (which I still regret to this day) and I wish I had stayed but alas I can't go back. I left that going to Company 2 will have the h1b as well as career path. But the job with Company 2 ended up being a nightmare, it was a toxic environment and I could not go any longer. When I joined company 3, they could not give assurance on the h1b, thus I left them and now I am with company 4.

If my h1b does not get approved, I may see the job with company 4 being terminated (again, I dont know if they will do it, but I will try and get as much experience as I could). If I have to restart my career moving forward, how do I write my resume? Do I delete company 3 and possibly 4 and explain I wasn't able to secure employment which is why I have the gap on my resume? I want to make sure I don't make myself unemployable in the long term. Please help.
