Weird story that's making me anxious all weekend.
I just started my first major job 2 weeks ago. To make a good impression, I'm showing up to the office early, leaving late and finishing tasks ASAP. I was unemployed for a long time so I don't want to mess this up.
This week, my boss asked me to join her at a conference on Saturday morning (I get weekends off usually). I really didn't want to go, and had a friend from out of town visiting Friday night, but I said yes enthusiastically anyway.
My Friday night went pretty badly. My friend got drunk and sprained her wrist, so we spent all of Friday night in the hospital. I slept for like 1 hour, then had to wake up early to meet my boss at the conference. I tried really hard to be excited to be there, but was exhausted, stumbling over my words, and she definitely noticed.
At one point she just told me I could leave early if I wanted to, and I apologized saying that I was up late due to my friend being in the hospital. She didn't really seem too impressed and said we could talk about it more on Monday.
I'm now just super stressing. How do I get back on her good side? I feel like she's disappointed in me, and I'm still in the period where they can fire me for anything.
