Is a slow response after urgently needing references red flag?

I'm currently in the running for a contract at a large company, but the recruitment process has been really slow. I was initially told that the company wanted to get someone in on the first week of February but I didn't even have an interview until two weeks ago.

After that I was told I was the front runner and they asked for my references on Thursday. They gave me less than half a days notice to provide the references and the recruiter contacted them straight away, making out that it was urgent.

I like to give my references a heads up before they get contacted to make sure they are available. I bent over backwards to contact my references and had to apologise for the short notice. Fortunately I was able to get in touch with my former manager and he was happy to provide a reference. They asked for my references at 10am, I gave them the information at 12pm and my former manager gave my reference that afternoon. And now.... radio silence.

It's now been 3 days and I'm feeling quite anxious, and a little bit annoyed that they put all that pressure on me and my references because everything was on a tight deadline, only to hear nothing from them since. Is this a red flag that they won't value my time as an employee?
