I just returned to my previous company this Monday. I returned after a 4 month stint at another company. Everyone has been very welcoming and things are going well at work but not with me.
I’ve had a medical issue come up in the last few weeks that I’ve been trying to ignore and give time. I was hoping it would just go away but it hasn’t. I’m a terrible hypochondriac so even if it’s not something serious, I’ll worry myself to death.
I would like to go to a doctor but I feel bad for already requesting time off, especially given that my company allowed me to come back to work after resigning. I have no PTO besides one personal day (I’m set to accure my PTO as I work)
Additionally, I have an extremely long commute to work (an hour by car). My normal doctor is located in the town I live in, not the town I work in. So I would either have to miss almost half a day to see my regular doc or try and find a doctor in the city I work in that will see me as a new patient.
My supervisor is also going to be on PTO until next Wednesday and I’m not sure on who I should go to.
Should I feel guilty for asking to come in late/ leave a little early so I can see a doctor if I’ve just stared back? How do I request this?
