I have one internship offer but interviewed with a company today and want this job more. I don’t want to give up my original offer until the other is secured

Like the title says. I have a summer internship offer with Company A. I was supposed to accept by yesterday. I asked for an extension because I had an interview with Company B today. The extension was granted until Monday and they said they couldn’t go further.

Company B position is a 12 month instead of summer and in a different function of finance that I’d rather work in. So Company B is where I’d like to be. It’s very competitive and not a guarantee.

According to my career services rep at my school, because of some agreement between company A and the school, if I go back on my acceptance if Company B offers me the internship they will notify the school and I would get kicked off of my schools job board website for an amount of time.

So I don’t know what to do. Any input is greatly appreciated
