Got my first official job offer, How do I counter offer?

Long story short is that, I used to work for this company but got laid off ( I was a contractor at that time). Couple years later, I had reapply for a similar position within the same company for a different team that I used to work for. This is a Data Governance Analyst position (mid-level role). I spoke with HR and was told that the range of salary will be around 70-75k. Then I spoke with the Director (in which I used to work with as well) which is the head of the department. She essentially told me that I got the position and spoke with HR and the range will be 70-75k. I got an official letter and salary of 72k. However, based on my research, I believe that the salary should be around 80k. It seems there in this company, there is things called Band, in which is how each person is ranked from associate to executive. How should I go about it and what should I ask for? I was hoping to be above 75k and ideally 80k. I don't want to sound unreasonable, but also feel that I should be making that much due to the experience that I had previously had at the company and what the fair market value is that I am looking up.

Thank you.
