My town has a lack of jobs in my field and moving is not an affordable option right now. I’m interested in applying to jobs in towns 50 miles a way (over an hour drive). I have a car so I can provide reliable transportation. I think I can put up with the commute if it’s for a job.
But I’m worried jobs will count this against me if I don’t live close. Whenever I go to an interview around here interviews usually ask me how the drive was and how far I live.

Do you think living kinda far away from the job will influence their hiring decision?
