Company offers less than what I'm being paid now. How should I handle counter-offer?

Be bit of context: I'm currently at a job I'm completely demoralized in. Long story short, bosses have become exceedingly toxic. To really push that through, they put me on probation for the second time this week for a very obtuse reason, and it's very clear that regardless of what happens next, I won't be at this company for much longer.

I've been looking for new work. One role has been really promising, a "strategist" role. The average for a position of this title in my area is about 70k, according to Glassdoor. The process had been really good, and I got an offer today as a consequence.

But then I saw the offer. At some point in the application process, they switched the title from a "strategist" role to an "analyst" role. They never brought this up during interviews. The analyst role pays less in terms of title, according to Glassdoor.

Their offer was 55k in line with the average.

I am being paid 56.5k at my current job.

Needless to say, I'm not happy with the offer. Normally, I would balk. But circumstances at my current job make me realize that it might be better to take something from them. So I want to make a counter-offer.

I have three points of leverage here: 1. I never told them my expectations, nor my current salary. 2. My emails document that they referred to this as a "strategist" role, and at no point did they bring up that this would be changed to an "analyst" role. 3. They supplied a start date of a few weeks from now, which is more than enough time to find something of more substance. Before I was even given an offer, I had a late-stage interview scheduled for next week which I am sticking to, especially now, for a role that would pay maybe even more (in the 72-75k range). So I could state my intent, get something better and leave if something better pulls through.

(Additional points of lesser leverage: They have a different type of strategist position on their listings right now, similar to the one I'm scheduled to interview for; and they sounded like they really liked me)

How should I handle making a counter-offer on all this? Some input on this would be helpful. I already know to bring up my current salary at this point, but could use some assistance, so as to avoid coming off as dick-ish.
