2 weeks ago I interviewed for a dream position. The interview was a Skype interview, but went amazingly well. It was a conversation, the body language feedback was great, and at the end of it they said “well, if and when you decide to accept the offer welcome to the team!”
So then the next day I had another Skype but this time with the staff. We all introduced ourselves to one another and they each asked me a question, and once again they ended with- “we look forward to working with you and if you accept the offer welcome to our team!”
At the beginning of last week the director messaged me telling me he’d take the week to review other applicants and he’d have a decision to announce this Monday or Tuesday.
There has been no word today. The last eat update seemed out of character to me given the previous statements. I couldn’t sleep at all last night over anxiety that they have suddenly found a “better applicant” and will retract that “if you take the offer” stuff. I even sent a formal thank you and recap where I stated if an offer was extended I would accept it as it is exactly what I want.
I’m posting this to just hear if people have experienced this. Am I worried over nothing? It’s been a rough job search so this is going to be a tough upset if it goes south.
